Working to create a healthy, happy community

Our Beliefs

Inclusion is very important to us. We believe the arts should be accessible to all. Music, dance and drama gives us all the freedom to get creative, explore, motivate, communicate and innovate.

We believe that delivering projects through the arts and mindfulness will not only build confidence and self esteem but pass on skills for life.

How we connect and communicate with others is important in our mission to help young people become valued members of society. Opportunities to really make a difference in the community with connecting generations, understanding the importance of self worth and respect to ourselves and others.

Chair based exercise

We are fully qualified elderly care movement practitioners and we are currently running our amazing reminiscence therapy to dementia Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s patients in care homes.

Reminiscence Therapy is a wonderful therapy that helps those with dementia remember events people and places from their past giving families an opportunity to reconnect with loved ones, encourage participation reduce challenging behavior and create joy in what can be a stressful time .

Alongside this we have created a unique exercise programme –

Dancing memories with Melrose and millar!

A chair based dance, exercise singalong programme that is improving health and well-being as well as having benefits for those with arthritis joint pain circulation problems and improve muscle memory mental and physical health as well as feel brighter on themselves.

Fundraising events

We encourage the community to get involved in raising funds and awareness of our wonderful projects and are always so proud of the efforts children make…from cake sales to donating birthday present money!!

For the adults our fabulous Drag bingo event is a regular booking and always such fun!

Youth project

Is a course for young people delivering sessions in fitness, circuits, boxing, yoga, trampolining, mindfulness, meditation, wellbeing nutrition advice and offers emotional support. We will be promoting better mental health and aim to help reduce challenging behavior. We provide a safe environment to help young people feel confident and motivated to be creative and express themselves with no judgment, To be respectful to others thoughts and feelings and opinions and work together creating positivity within the community

We believe young people face an increase In peer pressure, negative social media, body image issues, setting unrealistic goals, Poor nutrition and negative behavior resulting in poor self esteem, lack of confidence and challenging behavior.

Our project will build confidence, improve behavior, promote better mental health and help young people feel valued in the community. When ‘graduated’ from the course of young people will have the opportunity to become mentors in the community supporting new students in future session.

“I’ve been working at The Studio Chislehurst for over 4 years. I teach musical theatre, street dance, tap and singing. The joy and rewards of working at such a wonderful studio is second to none. It’s team work all the way.

What I love about The Studio Chislehurst is it’s inclusive and some children who attend have challenges. It’s truly incredible and humbling to see all our children caring and helping each other along. I admire the ethos in class that we treat each other with the up-most respect and we can learn from each other. I’ve been teaching children for 16 years and I find the children to be happy, excited and loving towards each other. I am so happy to see what they all have achieved and look forward to seeing their growth in the future.

The Studio Chislehurst is a very kind, generous school and the children are well cared for. Angela has a great rapport with the students, parents and all the teaching staff. It’s a wonderful place to be and there is something for everyone.”
